Some pictures I took on a trip to Atami in 2002.
Atami is a resort town on Japan's east coast, somewhat south of Tokyo. The most remarkable thing about it is how much of a chintzy tourist trap it is. Atami Castle is a perfect example--looks cool until you realize that it was built as a tourist attraction in the '60s. OK, I suppose it still looks cool after you realize that, but only looks--the construction is entirely modern.
